Sponsor Responsibility

Sponsors are responsible for: 

1.  The behavior of their family members and the cost of repairs to any school vehicles damaged by student misconduct. 

2.  Ensuring that students have a valid bus pass while traveling on the bus. 

3.  Ensuring the safety of family members to, from, and while waiting at the designated bus stop.

4.  Having their family members at the designated bus stop at least 5 minutes prior to scheduled departure time.

5.  Meeting family members in grades K-2 at the bus stop when they return from school.

6.  Reporting any incidents of unsafe or unruly behavior on school buses or bus stops to the Student Transportation Office.

7.  Providing the school bus office with timely notification when a family member has a change in his/her local address, designated bus stop, or phone number change.

8.  Transporting student to and from school during suspension of bus riding privileges.

9.  Serving as bus monitor if required by the local installation commander.

10.  Discussing school bus rules with student and stress “Bus riding is a privilege, not a right’ and can be revoked or suspended.
