Pets are not allowed in temporary quarters (base hotel or billeting). They will have to stay in the Pet Care Center located on base, Yongsan, Seoul. We will make the necessary arrangements based on the information you provide prior to your arrival. Cats and dogs are not quarantined as long as you can provide a valid animal health certificate that shows that the animal has been vaccinated against rabies at least 30 days prior to your arrival to Korea. Heath certificates must be dated within 10 days of travel. Other pets, see below.

**DO NOT schedule your flight to arrive on Sunday UNLESS you have made arrangements for your pet/s to stay with someone.

1. Dogs and cats entering the country must have:
a. Rabies certificate (3 copies) for the most recent vaccination which must be given greater than 30 days, but less than one year prior to entry. One copy of the rabies certificate must be the original, signed DD form 2208.
b. Health certificate (3 copies) dated within ten days preceding the animal's arrival. One copy must be the original, signed DD Form 2209, or equivalent.
c. Important - If the rabies or health certificates were obtained through a civilian veterinarian, the forms must be endorsed by a field office, US Department of Agriculture. A USDA veterinarian must sign both health certificates and place his USDA stamp on the back of each copy. The signature without the stamp is invalid for entry. A State Department of Agriculture stamp will not be recognized by ROK authorities.
2. Domesticated rodents such as hamsters and gerbils: A health certificate (3 copies) dated within ten days preceding and animal's arrival. These animals must also have a VS Form 18-1 from a USDA veterinarian dated within 10 days of arrival.
3. Canaries and parakeets: A health certificate (3 copies) dated within ten days preceding the animal's arrival. These animals must also have a VS Form 18-1 from a USDA veterinarian dated within 10 days of arrival.
4. Introduction of animals other than those listed above into any US Army installation in the ROK is prohibited. Exceptions may be made only in special cases as determined by the veterinarian and authorized in writing by the Installation Commander.
