New Teacher - Orientation

SCHEDULE

The District Superintendent's Office will host an orientation for teachers new to Korea at the Dragon Hill Lodge.

Teachers traveling from Daegu, Chinhae, Humphreys and Osan will be issued travel orders. The orders will be for one night stay in Seoul. However, you will be responsible for making your own hotel reservations. Your school secretary will assist you in booking transportation to Seoul. You will be expected to travel to Seoul on Aug 19 . Your return transportation should not be booked before 4:00pm on the evening of Aug 21 .

NEWCOMER’S ORIENTATION

On the evening of August 20th, there will be a Social/Cultural dinner for all new teachers (includes new/local hires, transfers, and spouses). The newcomers’ orientation dinner is an opportunity to meet your new colleagues, administrators, and the District Superintendent’s Office staff.

This years dinner will be hosted at Don Valley in Itaewon. A bus will depart from the Seoul American High School parking lot (across the street from the Dragon Hill Lodge) at 1730 on Aug 20. If you do not take the bus, dinner will begin at 1800. You will be responsible for getting back to the Hotel. The restaurant is in walking distance to the hotel, or directions in Korean will be provided for you to take a local taxi. Dinner will not be prepaid. You will order from the menu upon arrive and checks will be paid individually.
